Well, hello friends and hello Monday! I hope you are having a great day! Today I am finishing up the present series about finding balance or as Psalm 90:12 calls it, inner wisdom. We have covered Burned out, Blown up, Bloated and today we tackle Blistered. When you are immobile or inflexible you are definitely out of balance...
We tend to get out of balance this way when we begin to judge lost people harshly when they are acting like...well, lost people. Jesus was hashest with "church people" He was gracious and kind to the lost. He was fully emersed in the culture of His day. Yes, we are commanded to call them to repent and to help to make disciples out of them. But we must do it with love and grace and patience. We need to remember that we must nourish relationships with them and we must address our culture in a relevant way. We must not hide from it, abandon it, or pretend times have not changed. The gospel reaches all generations and if we will take ours to the cross, Jesus will draw them and the spirit will transform them. But we can't do that from behind our walls or via rants on social media. It starts with real relationships.
We also need to be open to change. We need to be setting new goals and trying new things. We need to accept some risk, and build adventures. We need to stop doing the same old thing and hoping for new or different results. All of this will keep us supple, flexible and pliable and energized. Let's go meet the our culture with a smile and a kind word. Let's meet some needs in Jesus' Name.
Thanks for joining me for this series. I will be back soon for more on inner and outer beauty. May God's grace preceed us and keep us balanced and poised to please Him and glorify Him in all we do.
